[ADe] More functionality to "Align to..." feature

Recommended Posts

Hi there, Devs!

On the 1.6 version we got this nice addition of "Align to... First Selected / Last Selected". And I was thinking the way Inkscape manages this. So here are two ideas to expand the functionality built in Designer.

  • Add more Alignt to... options. In the following screenshot you can see the are are four more opions. They allow you to align to the exterior of the shape, left or right, and top or bottom (I know we can do that dragging manually the shape but there is a reason why we have this new feature).

  • Secondly. The Align and Distribute panel in Inkscape is a "global setting" to align things. I've noticed that in Designer, you have several options to align objects, but only the one in the cyan rectangle has the new feature of First Selected / Last Selected; the other ones (including Layer > Alignment) work like Align to Selection Bounds always (unless I'm missing something). It'd be nice if that setting in the new options applied to the other ways of alignment as well.

Thanks a lot in advance. Hope I explained myself clearly. :P

Best regards!
