Hey, So i'm having trouble making a decision on which one to buy first, i feel like i may buy both just because. but i'm a hip hop artist/dancer and a dj. I started making covers for singles/albums and im debating on which one would be the best to buy for what i want to do. I Also want to put the on shirts and sell them. i like desinger beause i like drawing cartoons (even though i'm not so good at it) and i like photo cause i can make ordinary pictures pop.... not sure which one i should buy now and which one to buy later.

If you are planning on buying both eventually & your finances allow it, I suggest buying both of them now, while the 20% off end-of-year sale prices are still in effect.

It's up to you, but both sound like they would fit your needs. However, if you are looking to only get one for now, Designer might be a better choice since it is more particulate for cartoon drawing. (I like cartoon drawing too.) It has vector brush stabilizers (Rope and Window Mode), you can round corners to shapes (very beneficial), and you can set fade effects with the Transparency Tool. Additionally, you can also use Designer for some photo editing (not as advanced as Photo of course), but you still have a reasonable amount of pixel tools. For a hip hop cover, Designer features a "posterize" adjustment that might fit the theme. You can also use pixel masks for cutouts, and there is a lot you can do for cover art.

The website is still a work in progress. The "Comics" and "Shop" sections are not yet ready. Feel free to connect with me and let me know what you like or what can be improved. You can contact me here, on my contact page, YouTube channel, or Twitter account. Thanks and have a great day!

Eventually i do plan on buying both but i would rather just choose one for now and wait a few months before buying the other one

Hi, dreashiphop,

Think back over the work you have done. Mostly 'toons, then Designer. Mostly photo manipulations, then Photo.

For the end of year discount, you still have about 2 weeks. Depending on your schedule, that is enough time to d-load each trial version, and work w. it for a few days before deciding on a purchase. That way, you will be able to decide on which app to focus. Both have a portion of each others features, so either one might serve your purposes.

I started w. Designer. Had to unlearn a lot of habits from Illustrator and Corel Draw. Took me about 3 months of work, a few hours a day, to explore and get comfy w. Designer. Have been using Photo for a few months. Never did much photo work beyond simple  adjustments like contrast and levels. Some noise reduction and re-touching. There's much more in Photo. Even tho' the work space layout is very similar to Designer, I expect it will take about twice as long to get to average skill.
