MWeldon Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Hello, I've been experimenting trying to get text inside of text using the frame text tool on some art text I converted to curves. Is this the correct way? I can't seem to get it how I need it... Attached is an example of what i'm trying to achieve. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance M Quote

Turn the letter into a curve (as you did). Make sure it is selected and choose the Frame text tool. When you hover over the letter (now a curve) you will get a Pentagon pointer. Click on the letter and that will turn it into a text frame. Fill it with text. MWeldon 1 Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
MWeldon Posted November 23, 2017 Author Posted November 23, 2017 Thank you Toltec for the very helpful and thorough response. I think the issue I am having is due to my fill text not containing spaces, it all appears to bunch together at the bottom outside of the letter outline curve? I've toyed with the fill text character and paragraph parameters but it will only fill the letter outline curve if the text contains spaces. (I'm creating a logo for a cryptocurrency venture and the letters are to be filled with cryptograhic string ie : 7HdGHjhf83fjjgH9o1IA1Dhhh1gdhsgjkhe67wo5i6ryJh3vvOn6hfPks4djfysufge Thanks again M Quote
toltec Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Yes. I got the same result with your text string so you will have to manually enter spaces or returns Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
A_B_C Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 But here is a little trick: insert a zero-width space (Text > Insert Character > Zero Width Space) after each letter of your “crypto” code, and you will be able to fill the shape without having to care for custom returns or the like. The lines will get a breakpoint at each zero-width space. In order to prepare your text, you can assign a keyboard shortcut to the zero-width space character in the preferences. To get typographically perfect results, it is, however, always recommended to do your design manually … Hope that helps … Alex Crypto.afdesign Aammppaa, Alfred and dutchshader 3 Quote
MWeldon Posted November 24, 2017 Author Posted November 24, 2017 Thank you both! I may have to revert to Illustrator on this one... (blasphemous I know) Quote
