ambiroa Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Not sure if this a bug, but when I create one artboard, then copy the artboard, move it to the side so I see both on the canvas, give it a unique name, then go to the export persona, it only makes an export slice of the first artboard. The only remedy I found so far is to draw a new artboard on an existing artboard, and then move the content from the current to the new one. When I then go to the export persona, it makes an export slice for both of them. PS: I'm using the latest version Quote
Aammppaa Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 See my post in this thread. In brief: it takes one click to make a new slice that is attached to the copied artboard. Quote Win10 Home x64 | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 3.7GHz | 48 GB RAM | 1TB SSD | nVidia GTX 1660 | Wacom Intuos Pro

Because everything was sliced automatically before I updated to the latest version. arkinien 1 Quote
Aammppaa Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Hmm... don't know - I'd never explored this in v1.5 perhaps someone else can answer? Quote Win10 Home x64 | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 3.7GHz | 48 GB RAM | 1TB SSD | nVidia GTX 1660 | Wacom Intuos Pro
arkinien Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I'm glad to see it's not me who's going crazy. I noticed that too and was wondering if some setting got mixed-up somewhere, but I could not find it. Clicking the "Create slice" button from the layer palette in the export persona is handy, but it's more than one extra step we did not have to do before when duplicating an artboards. Creating a new slice, instead of duplicating one, also requires to reconfigure the export settings for that new slice, which could become much more complex, even with presets. Especially if you have multiple exports from one slice. On top, if one has many many artboards, it's easy to miss a few at the time of exporting. If anyone knows how to turn that feature back on it would be great. Quote
Staff MEB Posted January 25, 2018 Staff Posted January 25, 2018 Hi arkinien, ambiroa, This was changed in the latest version. Currently duplicated artboards don't generate slices automatically - there's no way to turn this "on". I don't know the reason why this have changed but i will try to get more info about this. arkinien Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Thanks for the feedback Bummer, on a user perspective, that was very useful. Quote
Staff MEB Posted January 25, 2018 Staff Posted January 25, 2018 An update on this issue: i've talked with the dev team and this change will be reversed in the next update so duplicated artboards will also have slices generated automatically again. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Staff MEB Posted January 28, 2018 Staff Posted January 28, 2018 Just one note to add that this change was implemented in the latest Designer Customer Beta (1.6.1 Beta 2) for those willing to give it a try. As said earlier the fix will also be included in the next retail update. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
arkinien Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 That is awesome, I'll give it a peak! Quote
