Rick G
If you increase the brightness to the max (25%) in develop mode, the beta barely brightens whereas the release version brightens much more I showed the last beta but it is the same in 1.6.0.83) Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Staff Chris B Posted September 29, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 29, 2017 Hey Rick, Can you compare and verify the other settings? We've tried this on 3 different Windows PC's and the results are identical. You must have slightly different settings in other areas. If you are adamant that this is a difference between the two versions, can you please provide us with your image. Rick G
I have out of the box settings on both installs. and that is the result I get. Phot has been in for about 2 weeks since a total Windows 10 install and the customer beta about a week then updated yesterday, The only thing done to either picture is increase the brightness as much as possible in each veersion. Would you have me reset anything on my end? The only customization I have done is to use the light interface. The Picture in the release version comes in lighter than in the beta with no adjustments. I believe I have reset everything to factory defaults but and willing to try any suggestions Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Rick G
However when I bring the same photo into both programs they come in with different histograms and I don't know how to fix this Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Staff Chris B Posted September 29, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 29, 2017 Hey Rick, Can you attach the original image from your first post as I think this will really help us figure this out. Also, can you go to View > Assistant Manager > Develop Assistant and screenshot the dialog that appears on the beta and release. Thank you How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials

Staff Chris B Posted September 29, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 29, 2017 Thanks Rick, Here is a comparison between beta 1.6.0.83 and release 1.5.2.69: I am almost certain you have either a Develop Assistant difference or the Basic, Details, or Tones Panel settings are different. You can try doing a reset on the app (hold Ctrl whilst launching it) but please take a look at the panels and compare them. Rick G
I used control to launch the program. Checked all Items to reset and no difference in the output. I have not used the other settings but checked each tab and set it to default Mine is not loading as yours nor is the histogram them same I just downloaded and overwrote the file on the off chance that I had saved a previous edit Not so. The replaced file reflects the same issue Edited September 29, 2017 by Rick G Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Staff Chris B Posted September 29, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 29, 2017 I assume you did the Ctrl runup on both release and beta? How bizarre... There is a strange glow around the girl in the purple top but not the girl in the red top (in the release screenshot) which, even though the beta looks a tad darker, makes me think the release looks completely wrong. I'll keep poking this and change some settings and if I find anything untoward I'll get it logged with development. I'll keep poking this and change some settings and if I find anything untoward I'll get it logged with development. I used the brush to highlight the brightness and purposely did a "bad" job going past the outline of the girl to see the result for testing purposes and to make the subdued lighting effect more obvious Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Staff Chris B Posted September 29, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 29, 2017 Ah okay, well the only other thing I can think of is that you may have accidentally used the Overlay brush on a small area of the beta version so when you drag the Brightness slider up, it only affects the Brightness for the overlay you just painted. If you can create this again after doing a Ctrl runup on both release and beta with a new image, then I might be inclined to agree this is an app issue which I'll of course need to keep looking into. Rick G
I did a control run up on both the release and the beta checking all items to be reset and the beta is working comparatively to the release version What could I possibly have don to cause that.? I have been following tutorials and using filters and layers but making no system changes other than changing to the light interface adding a macro pack and a couple of brushes Thanks Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
