Cross platform question

Hey There!

 

I’m getting an iPad Pro soon, and I’m super stoked to try out Affinity. I had a quick question, I see that I’m not able to use the Macros on the iPad. I do have some photoshop actions I’d like to use, but I understand that’s not an option on the iPad. However, is it possible to purchase the app and also be able to get it on my Mac, or will I have to purchase the two separately? Also, if I do get the program on my Mac, will I be able to transfer my work over to my iPad after I use it on the computer so I can use my photoshop actions? Has anyone come up with a workflow for that?

Affinity apps are not cross platform. You need a separate license to use Affinity Photo on a Mac.

You can transfer files between iPad and Mac using iCloud or other supported services. But since the desktop programs are at a lower version than the iPad app you may have some incompatible things in your files.

Macros were already implemented in the latest Beta on iPad (Macros Studio) and will be available in the next update. Photoshop actions are not supported on Affinity apps because there's no feature parity between the two.

 

You have to purchase one license for each platform: one for iOS and another for macOS.

 

Yes you should be able to transfer files between the two applications. Affinity files are cross platform. Currently due to the recent launch of Affinity Photo on iPad and the next Affinity Photo update on Mac, they are still not in sync but this is temporary until the launch of version 1.6 on the Mac.
