jackamus
Is there a way of selecting an individual object that is at a lower level from objects that are above? Staff MEB Posted February 4, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2015 Hi Jack, Yes, there is. Press alt+click to cycle through the objects from top to bottom. If they are in different layers you must have Edit All Layers activated in the Layers Panel. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Gear maker
MEB I find that if the layer is locked then the layer seems to be hidden from finding it using the method above. That doesn't seem right. FYI double clicking steps through the different layers also. Unless it's locked. jackamus
I tried double clicking but it didn't work! When you say double click how different is that to just multiple clicking? Gear maker
I find that if I have an object that is on top of several other objects, that if I double click (two left clicks done quickly) I will select what is probably the lowest layer/object that exists at this spot. The next double click I get the next layer/object up, the third double click the next layer up, etc. Even if there are several layers I can step through them. jackamus
I'm afraid I can't get it to work for me. Are you using the Beta version of Affinity? Gear maker
That's strange in the drawing I was tally about with the pebble texture I could find one particular pebble by drilling down with a series of double clicks. But I made a 3 shape test drawing and it only works like MEB says with an opt click. I can't explain it. Sorry.
