Staff Sean P Posted July 24, 2017 Staff Share Posted July 24, 2017 This is because Space temporarily invokes the Pan Tool. From there the Ctrl modifier allows the pan tool to zoom. Many of the tools have different functions when using the Ctrl keys so holding down Ctrl first will not work as it will enable whatever function it does on your currently selected tool - for example enables the Node Tool if you are using the Pencil.
