Switching from LR: but what about DAM workflow?

Recommended Posts

I'm making a concerted effort to shift from LR/Photoshop CC to Affinity.  Not only do I have the Affinity Photo desktop but now the iPad version too.

One issue remains: how to handle my 80,000 images that are catalogued in LR?

Once I cancel my Adobe CC subscription, I'll have 80,000 stray images?

The Lyn app is okay, but not enough.

Very much would appreciate other ideas.  Thank you.

Yes, I think...

however, you can have ALL your images in catalogs with a footprint and reasonable preview size to carry say on your laptop - e.g. I have one (1TB) (of several) external hard drives with more than 100k images at roughly 8GB file with 2048px previews on the long side.

I don't know the 'inner workings' and capabilities/ portabilities of Adobe Bridge though...

Just an alternative of DAM handling I found and like...

As MBd points out, since you already have an Adobe account you can use Bridge for free as it is separate now from CC, etc, and does not depend on you using other Adobe products. Okay, I guess I could have said "standalone." And it is a good photo mgr. You'll still need to figure out your strategy to manage photos between your main Affinity system and Affinity iPad.
