Pedro Dias
Hello, How can I add Furigana in Japanese Kanji? Furigana or Ruby are text above japanese text to easily read kanji. This is and option that we have in Microsoft Word, Indesign, Illustrator or Simple Furigana for Mac... I also tried to COPY an text from Word and PASTE on Affinity but all words were wrong. > I could only insert with a little success from this site: http://furigana.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi That is a Furigana Generator with HTML > Also tried to change language to japanese but couldn't find it too. > Jack Wayneright
Staff Callum Posted June 14, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 14, 2017 Hi Pedrodias, We don't support Furigana automatically I'm afraid. If you would like to add it to your document you would need to do it manually using the Text Tool. Thanks Callum Pedro Dias 1 Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
ashf
Phonetics(Ruby) is necessary in Asian languages such as Chinese but just Japanese. Even html has it.https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/ruby olivier.koroli, Pedro Dias and Jack Wayneright

Jack Wayneright
Hello! I would also like to see this implemented. However, I noticed this is in the questions section of the forum rather than the feature request section (presumably, the feature requests section didn't exist when this was originally posted). Would it be worthwhile to open a new topic in the feature request section? Phonetic guide text is a fairly important component of multiple East Asian languages, and I would be interested in seeing more discussion on this potential feature. olivier.koroli
