Using 'N' as a shortcut for the Node tool as well as reveal the nodes it defaults to the pencil tool. Shouldn't it be just the Node tool?

If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed!

Hi Jack,

The "N" is the shortcut to the Pencil Tool. The shortcut for Node Tool is "A".

What is happening is that Affinity Designer is reverting to the previous used tool when you press twice on the same shortcut.

The idea behind this is to let you go back to your previous tool without having to look to your keyboard to press a different key.

So for example: suppose you've been using the pencil tool (go to the Pencil Tool), now press A to change to the Node Tool. If you press A again, Affinity will revert to the Pencil tool (the previous used/selected tool). You don't have to specifically press N (the Pencil tool's shortcut) to go back to it, although you can use it too if you want.

Hope i've been clear.

Perfectly clear thanks MEB.

BTW I was able to retrieve the old DP files and converted them to pdf files on my daughter's laptop. Since then I have found the DP files of my half completed SS Jaguar and shall get them converted as well and then check out if I can edit them using Affinity.

PS it looks as if you are becoming my personal tutor!
