R C-R
Mmm now that IS interesting! I am not sure if you mean the lines representing menu text, Susan Kare, or something else, but the discussion of icons reminded me of ResEdit, an early tool for editing Macintosh resources. ResEdit made it possible for users to edit system icons & create their own. To appreciate the artistry of what Kare accomplished, the earliest icon resources for the Mac (the "SICN' or "small icon" type) were limited to a 16 x 16 pixel B&W grid. I remember trying to create my own small icons, which always ended up looking like unidentifiable blobs. This is what the ResEdit SICN editor looked like: (from https://developer.apple.com/legacy/library/documentation/mac/pdf/ResEditReference.pdf) It is a very crude tool by modern standards, but it provided many of the basics we take for granted now, like the paint bucket, the pencil, the lasso, & even a few shapes. jackamus
Sorry I wasn't more clear. I meant the work of Susan Kare. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! v_kyr
... They were also mostly designed by graphic artists, not programmers. Perhaps the most famous (iconic?) of them is Susan Kare, noted for her groundbreaking work for Apple. I remember at least her name, but more from those times here, since she was one of the members of the NeXT team in the past ...
