Is there a forum administrator?

A couple of problems with searching stuff in the forums....

There was a couple of threads about fur brushes so I searched for fur and it said no results.

There was also some threads about adding a border so I tried to search for border and it said the search term border was not allowed

Improving the search function should help with duplicate questions being posted

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

I agree that this is far from any good

for now you could use the site: search of google

 - type "site:forum.affinity.serif.com border" and you get these results

 - type "site:forum.affinity.serif.com fur" and you get these results

We are planning to upgrade the forum software from IPBoard 3.4 to 4.1. I really hope that the forum search facilities/results improve and the indexing is more in our control. resulting to google is only for those in the know...

Turns out the search cannot search for 1 2 or 3 letters, so the minimum search is 4 (I've changed the setting so it reports the same when you look for FUR) The blocked words list is not obvious in the admin control panel, but I understand why HTML is blocked.

Not only Google, but also Bing, Yahoo! and DuckDuckGo. Probably other major search engines, too.

Thanks Alfred, do they all use site: as the syntax?
