I'm currently trying out the Demo Version of Affinity Designer, and I really like it a lot,

the only problem I have is that if I export the Document as SVG, I end up with an SVG that contains only one single PNG as image object, but what I really wanted is a vector graphic.

Is this a Demo limitation? If not, how can I export it as a real vector graphic?

The demo version isn't limited. This is a bug. We'll get it fixed in a future beta.

The problem is triggered by the embedded documents. Those currently have to be rasterised, and a bug was causing them to be rasterised at the size of the outer document instead of the placed size of the inner. So there were many huge bitmaps, that got combined into a single bitmap.

Maybe instead of embedding the documents, you could open them, Select All, paste that into your main document, and then use that as a group. That could avoid rasterising entirely.

I tried this, thanks it works fine!

The only issue I see is that for some reason the border of the rect is not very accurate:
