neville
Concerning these 2 settings... RAM Usage Limit—allows you to set your preference for optimizing application performance for your projects. Disk Usage Warning At—choose the limit at which you are warned about disk usage. I suspect there may be some inconsistency in the way these settings work and are named/described. 'RAM usage' refers to the amount of RAM that Designer uses, but I suspect 'Disk Usage' does not refer to the amount of disk space that Designer uses. Instead, I suspect it refers to the amount of free disk space on the drive where Affinity is installed? Is that correct? If so, I suggest making that clearer, perhaps naming it something like 'Disk Space Free Warning At'.
Staff Chris B Posted February 2, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 2, 2017 Hey neville, I suppose the Help could be a little more 'helpful' in this regard. Unless you know what 'disk usage' actually is, I can also see it leading people to assume it means 'available space' on the HDD. I'll see if the docs team are interested in adding to this.It means that when Affinity has used more than that many MB of your disk for its backstore (i.e. things which will no longer fit in machine memory) then it will warn the user that they should probably consider closing some documents.
