Martin Taylor
I know that AD has no export preview capability as yet. By the look of the tutorials, AP doesn't have any preview feature either. Can someone confirm either way please?
Chris_K
Hi Martin AP and AD have the same export capabilities, so the export in one is the same as the other. The export persona is sort of a preview of the export, and this should become more apparent with future updates of the app Cheers :) Serif Europe Ltd - Check the latest news at www.affinity.serif.com
Staff TonyB Posted November 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 10, 2016 The export persona in Photo is the same as Designer so no it doesn't show compression yet but it can show a pixel preview of the rendered result.
Martin Taylor
Thanks, Chris and Tony. I'm not sure what is meant by "a pixel preview of the rendered result", so I'll need to try that out. Perhaps I'm wrong to treat it as important, but for me a realistic preview of the finished export is critical to the size / quality trade-off. Staff MEB Posted November 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 10, 2016 Hi Martin Taylor, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) By pixel preview TonyB means you can render the current view in Export Persona as pixels rather than as vectors. Check the icons (Pixel View Mode) on the middle in the top of the interface. What you can't preview yet is the rendering of the slices with the settings you defined for them. This means there's currently no way check the quality of a JPG with compression applied or how a PNG-8 will look with a limited colour palette. This will be implemented in a future version.
