make the color picker triangle stop spinning

Recommended Posts

Hi IJCT,

There's no way to stop the triangle from spinning when you pick a different hue (colour). That's how it works. You can however choose other ways to display/select colours. In the Colour panel, click on the menu icon on the top right and select Sliders or Boxes from the menu.

can we have an option to make it stop spinning? its really really really annoying

When MEB said that is how it works he means that is literally how it must work -- if it did not spin, it would forever be stuck on one hue. It is just one of several ways to pick among the three independent color properties of the color model (hue, saturation, & lightness).

The "nose" of the triangle, if you want to think of it that way, points to the hue value arranged as a circular band of values around the triangle. The small open circle on that band indicates the chosen hue value. Inside the triangle, the position of the other small open circle indicates the chosen saturation & lightness values, with the darkest tip of the triangle indicating the point of least lightness, & the whitest tip indicating the point of least saturation.

how can i stop the color triangle from moving when im picking a color? i find that realy annoying

The triangle colour selectors that move around drive me nuts too, lol.  The circular colour selectors with the fixed square in the middle are OK, as the square stays fixed.  Therefore when selecting a darker colour for example, regardless of hue it's always 'down and to the left' for a darker, less saturated colour.

To keep your sanity, change the colour picker to 'Boxes' as per MEB's post.  :)

Here's the 'Boxes' selector next to the Clip Studio Paint wheel.
