Ekoh
Hi Inpainting generally works fine. However, I encounter difficulty in removing this object completely(please refer to attached image). Please advise. Thanks in advance.
Staff Callum Posted July 29, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 29, 2016 Hi Ekoh, Would it be possible for you to provide the original image so I can try removing the object myself? This will allow me to advise you on the best possible method for doing this :) Any files you send to me will be deleted once I have looked at them if you would rather not post the file on this thread please feel free to send me a private message :) Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. Staff Pauls Posted July 29, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 29, 2016 I would either use the clone tool, which would take some time or simply crop the photo in this case
LilleG
I agree with pauls. There are some things that the Inpainting tool simply can't handle. In those cases, use the Clone tool. When using the Clone tool in situations like this, it helps to un-check Aligned.
barninga
ekoh, i used the inpainting tool on your image and got a pretty decent result. i think the key was to select very precisely what to inpaint where the object to be removed has no or very little uniform color around. i attached the image. it is saved with history, so that you can undo the few inpainting steps and see how i proceeded. anyway, the clone tool is a very effective alternative, as pauls and lilleg suggested. inpianting.afphoto Quote take care, stefano

LilleG
Not sure without seeing it but the inpainting tool might now be able to fix that line for you. Or you could try blurring it a bit with the Blur tool. Again, I'm suggesting without knowing exactly how it looks now so I may be completely off.
