NoranDivo Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Mac mini M4 Pro / macOS 15.3 / Affinity Photo 2 - 2.6.0 (update, today) Previously (until 2.5.7), you could add to a selection by dragging while holding down the control key, but has this been changed to the shift key from 2.6.0? Have these changes been announced anywhere? Quote

NoranDivo Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 It was announced. Understood. Usability improvements, huh? It's interesting that changing a shortcut you're used to is an improvement. I can understand it if it's a major update, but it doesn't make sense to do something like this with a minor update. It just seems crazy. This community is asking you to be kind. We want to be kind, but there are limits. I'm a switcher from Photoshop. The shortcut for adding a selection in Photoshop is command+shift (Mac). But in Affinity Photo it's command+CTRL (Mac). When I first started using Affinity Photo, I often made mistakes because of my old habits. But I'm finally getting used to it. And then I go back again. I'll probably make the same mistakes again for a while. And it'll waste more time. It's ridiculous. Quote

The change is to make the keyboard shortcuts cross-platform compatible as James Ritson explains here... NoranDivo Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 >The change is to make the keyboard shortcuts cross-platform compatible as James Ritson explains here... Are you talking about compatibility now? I think that's something that should be discussed in the early stages of development. Even if that's not the case, the fact that something like this is done in a minor update is proof that things are done haphazardly. That's why there are so many bugs.... HCl 1 Quote
