Affinity Designer v1 Ipad - Can I Snap The Slices?

I want to create a slice in specific measure.

As far as I know I can not do that directly.

 

Step 1) I create a rectangle.

Step 2) With Transform tool I enter the desired measurements.

Step 3) I create slice by dragging and dropping. However It does not snap to the rectangle I had created.

1. Create an artboard or rectangle in the desired size
2. move the desired content (layers) as child layers into this parent
3. switch to export persons and create a slice from the existing layer

Where is that option “Create a slice from the existing layer” in Export Persona?

I could done. However when I open the exported slices.

 

It does not show the image. Only black screen.

 

You can try to export Slice 1, 2 and on my file.

You have black curves over transparent background (the png export option in export panel does not add any white matting).

the iPad file and preview app use a black background, other than affinity which uses a white background.

if you open the files in photo, there will be shown correctly.

just use a different color than black for stroke.

please edit your file.

1. activate canvas->transparent canvas 
2. The best way would be to utilize the rectangle layers in the groups.
3. Make them white fill color.
4. They are currently an top of the other layers, and will hide the black lines.
5. Select the layers with black lines, and move  them as child into their parent rectangle.
6. having everything child nested makes the groups superfluous.

If you intend to use the icons for a web site, they must stay with transparent background, to allow the background shove through.

I could do It.

 

However when I do not fill the backround of each icon the same problem occurs.

 

The images are not shown up when I open them.

Sorry, please try a bit harder to thoroughly follow the instructions a gave earlier.
 

I cannot remotely guide every single step from a distance, without seeing what you do and where you deviate from the instructions.

I assume you try to export the slices again. Affinity will not overwrite exiting files. You must delete older export file before exporting again.

Sorry, I’m already trying hard.

 

I did delete the older files.

 

When I make the white fill invisible. 

 

The icons are not visible when I open them in ipads explorer.

What do you mean by “ipads explorer”? Do you have a third-party app of that name, or are you referring to the Files app that comes with iPadOS?

I meant default files app of ipad.

 

Normally I am a MS Windows user. As habit I called It Explorer.

So open the file in Affinity Photo or Designer. This will show the transparent background either in white or as checkered board, instead of black.
