Supafur Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I'm facing something I can't solve for now, even after searching around. Let's say I have a couple of layers. top one is the strokes layer, other ones are the coloured shapes. - 1 : when my adjustment layer is on top of everything, it effects everything, strokes layer included. wich seems logical. - 2 : when I move adjustment layer on the thumbnail of a shape layer. it affects the filling colour of the shape, but not the stroke / contour. less logical - 3 : when moving the adjustment layer on the thumbnail of a stroke/contour only layer, nothing happens. still not logical. did I missed something here ? or is it just not possible ? also, second question, I saw somewhere someone making the adjustment layeras a child layer of the selected object by default, using the "assistant", wich is a real time saver. Is it avaible on IPAD, or ist desktop version only ? Quote

By applying the adjustment to just that layer, you've told the application you want to restrict where it's applied. 14 hours ago, Supafur said: 3 : when moving the adjustment layer on the thumbnail of a stroke/contour only layer, nothing happens. still not logical. What kind of adjustment are you trying to apply? Can you share a sample file? You are getting the expected result of dropping the Adjustment onto the name of the target object rather than the thumbnail of the target object. Please try dropping on the thumbnail again. Quote

NotMyFault Posted January 18 Posted January 18 We would need to get the afdesign / afphoto document. it depends on the layer hierarchy and exact position of adjustment layers which layers get impacted by them. Specifically strokes can behave a bit unexpected when used in combination with layer clipping or masking. (Outside) Strokes don’t count to the shape for clipping or masking. (This is affecting clipping / masking of regular shape layers, not adjustments layers) Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Is that really broken on iPad? Quote

NotMyFault Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Just found the older report with strokes, it is slightly different and affects image layers or placed files. NotMyFault Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Child nested adjustments don’t impact the stroke of the parent. Only mask nested adjustments impact the stroke the original shape has a black to white gradient fill, in opposite direction for stroke and fill. the gradient adjustment will paint it rainbow like when „effective“. This does not depend on stroke setting to be painted before or after fill. clipped vs masked adjustment and stroke.afdesign Ldina 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. NotMyFault Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Some other assorted bugs when using filter layers for curves or open curves. Open curves no longer show outer part of stroke, only inner part noise filter impacts fill (even when no fill is set) Curves vanish from rendering if you deactivate a nested filter layers, but reappear when adding another deactivated child adjustment/ filter Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
