Layer thumbnail not showing after astrophotography stack

Sony A1 ii RAW support has just been added to the latest Photo build, so I tested an astrophotography stack which has worked perfectly, except I noticed that layer thumbnails aren't showing anymore.

I started editing the image and making a stamp visible layer, but none of these efforts generated a thumbnail.

When I open a single RAW from this camera, the layer thumbnail does display.

Happy to provide the RAWs if someone sends a link. They are >5GB in total so can't send here.

No problem - I've uploaded but Monday is fine to look at them. Let me know if you can reproduce. I saved the file and reopened it based on the plugin crashing bug I reported, and the thumbnails are now showing. So similar to the other bug, I wonder if this only happens on unsaved documents.

Hey,

I just finished the stack and noticed that I also didn't get a thumbnail. I waited about 2 minutes and went to File > Save As and the thumbnail popped in just as the save dialog appeared. 

I repeated it again and waited a bit longer and the thumbnail did appear before going to File > Save As - so it was just a timing thing for me.

Odd that yours only appears when you do a save. I'm not sure if it's related to the Plugin thing as that was a single line of code required to fix that issue. I will just another machine and see what happens but I just wanted to give you an update as something came up yesterday which delayed me replying to you.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the update. I wonder if my timing for hitting save (I always use a keyboard shortcut for this) happened to coincide with the layer thumbnails appearing. I’ll have another test later today to see if they appear without saving.

I've just tried it again on another MacBook and it took ~10 seconds to generate the thumbnails. I am on a newer build than you so perhaps it's that... also, your machine outperforms mine so it could just be something to do with us. Please re-test when you get a new build
