VectorCat Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 I'm trying to draw with the pencil tool yet Affinity Designer 2 doesn't let me see what I'm drawing until after I lift the wacom pen. Is there a way for Designer 2 to show what I'm drawing as I'm drawing it? Do I need to first make a layer, and then draw on it? The current behavior forces me to work blind...ironic for a drawing app.. Thank you Quote
carl123 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 The pencil tool should draw immediately you start drawing with it As regards the Affinity apps, the only setting I know that is related to the use of a pen are Tablet Input Measure which can be found in the Tools section of Edit > Settings There are 3 options you can try; each will require you to restart the app to test them Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. VectorCat Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 Here's what I see when I open Settings. BTW, I am doing this on a Mac Mini desktop computer, and not an Apple iPad. I seem not to have the option you mention. Quote
carl123 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Ah, looks like Macs don't have that option Maybe look for Mac specific tablet settings you can adjust I have a Wacom and it works fine on Windows Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. R C-R Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 I don't have a Wacom tablet to test with but the only ways I can duplicate that behavior with my Apple Trackpad is to set the width to zero or the stroke color to white or whatever other color hides the stroke with the background. Of course, as soon as I select any other tool or any other object then the shape disappears in the document window.
