Hello,

Originally asked in support, but no one could figure out why so reporting as a bug. This is happening to more and more previously saved files.

It doesn't matter if opening the file in mac or windows

Still happening in latest 2.5.7

All of a sudden whenever I click on develop the image show in the main window looses all colour output, this is with previously saved images that were fine before.

I'm not sure if I've accidentally switched a setting.

If I cancel the image returns to being colour, does anyone have any ideas what I might have done, it's now stepping me from editing any images as it loses the colour info in develop.

Only work around is to reimport the original raw file, but strangely the reimported file is darker than the original

Below are a video of opening the file, and switching to develop persona; and an example afphoto file

If you have already been discussing this in a different thread elsewhere in the forums then it would be nice if you could add a link here to that other thread so that people don’t have to go looking for it to see what has been discussed and tried so far.

Hi @adrian6t8,

I've not been able to figure out what is causing this but I've attached a version that doesn't exhibit the behaviour... You'll likely want to make some additional adjustments to the attached version as this one is perhaps a little more contrasty and warmer...

As suggested, here's a link to the original post, where I wasn't sure if this was a bug, or just something that I was doing wrong. but as it seems to be happening to more and more older files when I reopen them I thought I try reporting it formally as a potential bug. Not sure if it's just the Ricoh GRIII raw issue, I've not seen it happening yet with fuji or nikon raw files.

Hi @adrian6t8,

Could you upload the original out-of-camera DNG file used in the .afphoto file so we can take a look at how and where this issue may be occurring...

Sure, as requested here's the DxO generated dng, (from DXO pure raw 3) which is the file used in the .afphoto and also the original straight out of camera dng (ricoh gr3)

Note that everything seems to start off correct and working as expect and I've been able to redevelop over a number of sessions, it's only after some time (was wanting to make some tweaks for printing ) that I noticed the the file seems to "corrupt/degrade" so that I can't go back and re-develop the raw. Adding new and editing existing live filters works fine.  I have a number of other files that have also now suffered the same fate, where I can no longer go back in and tweak the raw.

I also have a number of files that have both from DXO pure raw and direct camera dng that both exhibit the issue, and or work fine, so I can't say it's on every file that comes from DXO.

@adrian6t8 I've asked one of the developers to take a look at your .afphoto and RAW files to see what may be causing the issue. Once I hear back from them I'll update this thread.
