1trapshell Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 For example, "Affinity Photo 2", the operating system is Windows 11. Although the software provides an "Export Macro" option, when I tried to import it again, I found that some operations could not be fully reproduced. I tracked down the file addresses of these two macros: "C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Common\2.0\user\macros.propcol" "C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo 2\Resources\Affinity Photo\macros.propcol" When I change my computer or reinstall the system, Any professional advice on which path I should back up my macro files and overwrite them for import? I just want the "macros" I set to be fully reproducible on a new computer or new system, because I no longer trust the official import macro option. Quote

The Library panel's export macros option should do that for you. Not sure what problems you encounter 1 hour ago, 1trapshell said: "C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo 2\Resources\Affinity Photo\macros.propcol" I believe this is the default set of macros that come with the app 2 hours ago, 1trapshell said: "C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Common\2.0\user\macros.propcol" That would be the file I would back up (as well as exporting each category from the Library Panel) 1trapshell and walt.farrell 2 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. As to why I said backing up these path files would be more complete, it is because if your macro operations include some "rasterized image" operations, then when you import the software's built-in export macro on another computer, you will find that it is incomplete, so I raised this question. I am not sure what you mean about "rasterized image operations." Images applied in Macros are saved as part of the macro itself (which is why they can get very large if they include large bitmaps) so they should be fully portable & complete if imported into a different computer. You need to import the other one, instead, which contains both the built-in macros and all the macros you've added.
