Hello everyone,

I’m encountering a memory-related error while trying to install Photoshop on my Windows 10 machine. My system specs are:

Despite meeting the minimum requirements, I keep getting errors during installation that seem related to memory or system resources. I’ve already tried the following:

  • Closing background applications to free up RAM
  • Running the installer as administrator
  • Ensuring Windows 10 is up to date

Has anyone faced a similar issue or know of a workaround? Could it be related to the DDR3-1066MHz memory speed or system configuration? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Are you installing Photoshop or Affinity Photo?

If it is Affinity Photo, see the system requirements here: Photo Editing Feature List | Affinity Photo

Despite meeting the minimum requirements on paper, the system (cpu generation released 2013) is about 10 years old and is on the absolute minimum. You will have no fun with it even if the installation succeeds.

it probably uses the integrated gpu which uses a portion of the RAM, further reducing available memory for apps.

CPU and other PC components developed dramatically in the past ten years. Try to get a more capable laptop or PC, not below 16 GB ram. MacBooks with M1 or later CPU are usable with only 8GB, Intel based laptops will strongly benefit from 16 GB or more.

Never the less: The app should install just fine with 8GB. Use the windows task manager, system information, and resource manager to check how much memory is actually available for apps, and which apps consume the memory while trying to install Affinity Photo. Please show us screenshots.

If you get error messages, place provide screenshots of them.

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.
