I need 4 different master page setups for my book because of the header differences. It's getting really annoying to type the page size every time. I have a custom size atm. Is there no way to pick match document size??

Hi @DaniAlex and welcome to the forums,

If you create a Custom Preset under the New Document dialog window and add it under the appropriate section or create your own Custom Presets section you can then select the preset when adding a new Master by selecting Presets from the Type dropdown...

The Add Master dialog window on Windows has been brought into line with the Mac version in the v2.6 Beta so the custom preset now shows in the section it was added to rather than its own Presets category...

Did you create the document for a different page size than the wanted Master page size? Or do you want differing page sizes within a document?

In my experience (V1) a new Master page gets created by default in the page size of the document. Means, if you change the document size in V2 then a new Master page would/should be created in that size, without a need to adjust the Master.

Alternatively a workaround might be using a Master page/spread in the wanted size (maybe without any layout object), then use copies of this (empty) Master to create layout Masters with contents (instead of creating new masters).

This is v2. I tried to make a duplicate but it just made all the masters change when I changed one. That's super frustrating. So far, i've had a lot of frustration moving from InDesign to this <8(

Thank you both for the help. i'll try to use the custom preset, it sounds like the only option atm but I don't really need that after this document so that's feels unnecessary.

I cannot duplicate that using the Duplicate Selected Master button in the Master Pages section of the Pages studio panel. Is that what you used?

I only started using this a few days ago. I used the master pages, right click duplicate. Then I used the duplicate in the add master button. Both had the same problem. One master I had TITLE | PROLOGUE. THe other master I only wanted the title but I went back to it and it said TITLE | PROLOGUE so I deleted PROLOGUE and it deleted it for the other one. I did it several times and had the same problem.

Again, what is the page size of your document? And do you want to use differing master page sizes within this document?

Possibly you created unwanted dependencies between your various master pages. Note, you can assign a master page to another master page and you can assign multiple master pages to any page.

I cannot duplicate that behavior with either method you tried. So for example, if I name the first master "TITLE | PROLOG" the duplicate is named "TITLE | PROLOG 2." I then tried renaming the first one "TITLE" by deleting the " | PROLOG" part & the second master remained "TITLE | PROLOG 2."
