Hello.

I am inserting 103 images into a single document which has approx 70 picture frames.

I insert the first image and adjust the position of the image inside the frame.

The 'Place" panel has now disapeared.

I click on the "Place' icon and now have to reload all the images in order to insert the next image...and so on and on.

Am I doing something wrong? I have looked at numerous tuts etc be nowhere is this mentioned.

Any help would be appreciated

Can you try using menu “Window → Studio → Show Left Studio” to make sure that option is checked (ticked) and try again?

I’m not saying that it will fix the problem but this ‘rings a bell’ somehow.

Also, which OS are you using?

What if you first place all images without changing the Place Tool and adjust the image positions afterwards?

GarryP & thomaso.

Thanks for the advice which I am now doing and makes sense.

It would be nice to be able to keep all the images visible as you revise sizes, position etc

Did the "Show Left Studio" thing work?

The issue seems to be that the panel gets opened (is visible) after resource selection but automatically disappears (gets closed by Affinity) as soon the user changes the tool, e.g. from Place Image Tool to Move Tool, without the option to switch back to the panel and its contents.

Ah, I see. I seem to have missed that important point from the start. Thanks for making that clear to me.

I’m pretty sure this has come up before but it was quite a while ago and I can’t find the thread for it so don’t know if it was a question or feedback.

Yes, quite early and as a feature request at least. (I don't know if it ever has been discussed as a bug)

By the way, your suspected problem of the 'place panel' not appearing automatically (or left Studio) in Windows has been reported as solved:

Thanks for finding those threads.

At least now I know I wasn’t just imagining it, or maybe I’m imagining this whole conversation.

Wait a minute, did that cat on the stairs just ‘glitch’?

You can keep the images visible and use the keyboard arrow keys to move your Picture Frame around after you place an image into it, but that's about all you can do.

I am sure the disappearing panel was discussed more than once. Here another one, even from APub's Beta 2018:

And, unfortunately, a recent Serif confirmation that the panel's auto-disappearance was coded 'by design':

Thanks to all for your comments etc. I seem to have opened a subject that is still being discussed and as far I can see still needs resolving (keeping 'Place' panel open when you change tools).
