I wanted to change an object's perspective. I eventually found "Perspective" in submenu "Warp Group" under "Layer". Is there a quicker way to discover such a thing, such as a map of the GUI, or a "search" facility

On Mac at least, you can type a word like "persp…" in the search field of the Help menu and if you highlight the line with the desired command, you'll see an animation showing you where to find it.

It looks like it's a system feature, not Affinity specific.

May I add a suggestion that this be added to the Windows version as well?

Just press F1 for the help file and then type "Perspective" in the search field

The first item it finds is about Warping Objects which mentions the perspective warp

If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
