epenrice
I use Affinity Designer on my mac, and when I created a file with Affinity Designer Windows, and wanted to fill in for it's limitations with my Affinity Designer Mac, I was disappointed that my mac couldn't open the file. When I used to pass Photoshop from Mac to a Windows computer, and vice versa, Photoshop would be able to read the files. Wouldn't this be useful in Affinity Designer too? Staff MEB Posted July 12, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 12, 2016 Hi epenrice, You should be able to open all affinity files independently of the platform used. If you are having trouble opening a file created on Windows on your Mac then something is wrong. Can you please upload the file using this link so we can take a look? Thanks. Mark Ingram
I think it's probably that you're not using the latest 1.5.x.x Mac beta. You will need to use that if you want to read files from the Windows version.
Staff MEB Posted July 12, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 12, 2016 Thanks Mark. I assumed @epenrice was using the same version (1.5) on both platforms. On the Mac, when we try to open a file created in version 1.5 on an older version of Affinity we receive a notification stating that the file version is not supported in that version of Affinity.
