The Chamfer tool causes the outline of the entire group of objects to be inaccurate

Recommended Posts

At around 0:21 in your video the layer type icon changes in the Layers Panel, from Curve to a (non-empty) Group.

The bounding box of a Curve layer can be different to that of a Group layer which contains a duplicate of the Curve layer.

Are you using a menu function, or keyboard shortcut, which isn’t recorded in the video?

Note: It might help us if you can perform your actions in videos more slowly so we can follow what you are doing more easily.

Thank for sharing the document.

In the lowest version (the one with the smallest bounding box) it looks like you have used “Convert to Curves” or used “Bake Appearance” on the curve and, therefore, ‘baked’ the corner into the curve whereas, in the middle version, the Corner is still ‘active’.

Note that, in the lowest version, when you try to use the Corner Tool on it again, the original corner has been 'lost' and it is now just part of the curve.
