I have a message that Affinity requires Direct 10x to run.  Checking my system I have version 11.  Does it require specifically version 10x  to be running?

Hi Bill_S,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

No, this means your graphic card must support Direct X10 features (hardware level) to run Affinity. You have the software installed (Direct X 11) but it doesn't mean the graphic card supports all the newest features of the Direct X 11 (or 10). Which graphic card do you have on your system? Installing the latest drivers for your graphic card may help.

Bill could you do the following for me please:

Press WinKey+R and then type dxdiag and then hit Enter

Select Display

Could you attach a screenshot of what you see please? Failing that could you just give me the info listed under the 'Device' group and in the 'Drivers' section what is listed under 'Feature Levels'.

Thanks

Hi Bill,
I've just been forwarded your email - these aren't monitored by us so please reply on the forum post, as opposed to replying to the automated email you get sent.

I've attached your screenshot to the post above to aid anyone else.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately the onboard graphics chipset you are using only supports the DirectX 9 feature set, Affinity requires DirectX 10 features to run.

DirectX 10 compatible graphics cards can be purchased relatively cheaply - especially as you say you do not use your PC for gaming. I would advise finding a local computer shop and having a chat with them - they should be able to give you some advice into what you may need.

Hope that helps somewhat!

Hello,

I think I have similar problem. When I am opening beta, I have got this message:

affinity.afphoto

I don't know if my card should be a problem, I have got geforce GTX 660.

Could you please tell me what can I do about this?
