Corrupted Files help needed

Hello , can anyone help me please. I have tried to open my file from Affinity publisher iCloud and receive a Failed to open file message (The file appears to be corrupted) This has also happened another file when working on a different computer. This work is important to me, is there any way to recover the file please.

I have chosen to start this work again rather than spend days jumping through hoops and waiting for replies to emails. I think it is irresponsible to continue selling this software with a bug that can cause complete loss of your work without warning. I used this software immediately after download with no warning against using the affinity cloud saving routine, which by the way was the default when I came to save my work. It works for a few days then Bam!!! everything lost. Disable it until its fixed and stop using your customers as guinea pigs.

I agree*, in particular regarding warnings about known culprits of possible file corruption. – However, there may be two things you can try yourself:

• Copy the file from the iCloud to a purely local folder and try to open it.

• In APub create a new document (ideally same page & colour setup), then choose menu Document > Add Pages From File… and in the dialog window select the corrupted document. This may work in seldom, undefined situations to restore an affected document.

Unfortunately @Dan C did not mention any option the user may try to restore an affected file but offers the upload only "In order for our team to assist and investigate this issue" with a thread title that sounds to include not only the upload option but also what users may try first: "What to do if your Affinity document is corrupted or failing to open, with an error message shown?"

[There is also the very rare case that temp file(s) of type .autosave may get used to restore a document, unfortunately it is even more unknown for what situations this option can work.]

* It appears fair enough and worth noting that also the – far more grown up and cost intensive – InDesign suddenly may fail to open a document and require either opening on a different computer or uploading to Adobe to get it fixed by the Adobe staff.

I'm having a really similar issue.

I'm working on the September edition of my village magazine using Affinity Publisher.

I have versions 1-4 saved and have been continuing to work on version 4 this morning.

Every half an hour or so I press the Save button and all is usually fine, but the last time I tried to save I got a "Failed to save document" error message. I've tried Save As and also changing the location of the save but to no avail, so v5 has a file size of 0KB. I'm just using my desktop computer, no cloud storage. Any ideas please?  It's only 30 minutes of work this time but I'm rapidly losing confidence in the program 😢

I have the same issue on Mac... everything was working fine and suddenly I get an error message saying that the file can't be written to. Tried to save it to different locations on my hard drive without any success. This i a serious deal breaker, if I can't trust the software to be able to save my work I can't really use it...
