Alexandre27 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Hello I am interested in buying Affinity Publisher 2 with the special price before the August 15, but I read that my computer needs Catalina. My macBook Pro (M1) is on Monterey and I dont want to upgrade for various reasons. Can someone using it on a mac with Monterey (M1) confirm Publisher 2 works fine still ? Thanks Alex Quote
Hangman Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Hi @Alexandre27 and welcome to the forums, Monterey (macOS 12) is a more recent version of macOS than Catalina (macOS 10) and is supported so Publisher 2 should work fine. I used Publisher 2 with Monterey without issue until recently before upgrading to Sonoma... I mixed Catalina and Sonoma… You mean that you finally had problem using the software with Monterey, or is it when you moved to Sonoma that the issue appeared? Quote

I've had no problems using Publisher 2 with either Monterey or Sonoma, both are fully supported... Alexandre27 Posted August 13, 2024 Author Posted August 13, 2024 Oh ok. I misunderstood the meaning of your “until recently “ Quote

To clarify, I was running Publisher 2 on an Intel Mac with Monterey with no problems. My laptop died so I replaced it with an M3 laptop running Sonoma and am now happily running Publisher 2 with Sonoma... I've had no issues with either... Anyway I don't think it will make a big difference. Well, I hope Quote

Yes but it is mentioned somewhere on the site that you cannot test, then benefit from the special discount. Quote

I'm pretty sure that is not correct... You should be able to download the trial, test for 6 months and purchase at any point if you feel it is for you, there are, as far as I know, no restrictions... Do you have a link to where you believe the website says that you cannot test, then benefit from the special discount? But anyway, your experience, and the fact that M1 is listed in the specifications on the site for publisher 2 (as well as Monterey) gives me confidence to buy it today. Thanks again for your help. If you have any questions about anything there are always people in the forums who are happy to help so just ask away and good luck, I hope you enjoy using Publisher. I'm in no way affiliated with Serif but just in case you're not aware, if you want to use the Designer and Photo Personas within Publisher you would need to own both Designer and Photo as well so you may (or may not) want to consider the Universal licence which gives you access to all three apps which you can install and run on Mac, Windows and iPad and is an excellent deal price wise at the moment... Just a thought as having all three apps gives you a lot of flexibility but it all depends on your requirements... wonderings Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 You definitely do not lose out on the sale price by trying out the demo, that would be a pretty bizarre. I am pretty sure the sale ends tomorrow, or do I have that wrong? I would check the demo and make sure it runs properly so you can take advantage of the amazing deal! Quote
