But the OP also says ‘still’, and I can’t find a previous thread. Sephen Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 I'm using Libre Barcode EAN13 Text. Alfred 1 Quote
Hangman Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 It's basically failing on the 'check digit', as soon as that is entered the Barcode fails... It works correctly in Apple Pages so I would consider this a bug... @Sephen, have you previously reported this as a bug and if so, do you happen to have a link to the report? It’s just a string of numerals you’re entered enough digits. When you enter the 13th digit, the font says “Oh, that’s a barcode!” and tries to display it as such. When you enter the 13th digit, the font says “Oh, that’s a barcode!” and tries to display it as such. Entering a '?' as the 13th digit 'should' automatically calculate the 'check digit' but the Affinity apps fail to render the barcode correctly when using either a '?' or the actual 'check digit'... there is an issue with the Affinity interpretation of the OpenType calt 'contextual alternatives'... However, entering the code using the fallback method does work... Barcode.mp4 This was discussed at length in this thread... Sephen Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 Thanks! This is a bug from back in 2022 and its still not fixed so it will probably not be fixed soon. Guess I will still need Inkscape for a while. Quote
Hangman Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 You could use the Fallback Input Method though of course that is far from ideal... mrcls Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 (edited) Why not use the free3of9 font to create barcodes in the Affinity products. Start and stop each string with "*" and you'll get a valid Code 39 barcode. Free Barcode Font - Code 39 True Type - Barcodesinc.com Edited August 1, 2024 by mrcls Quote

A Code 39 barcode is of little use when an EAN 13 code is the requirment.
