MikeTO Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Minor regression? You need a text style with a missing font - I placed styled text from Word that used Calibri which I don't have in Affinity but presumably you could create a doc with styled text, save, close, and re-open it. Edit the text style - change any attribute other than the missing font. Click OK - the text style editor will not close and you must either change the font or click Cancel. In 2.4.2 you could click OK. walt.farrell Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Sounds to me like 2.4.2 is broken, and it's fixed in 2.5. MikeTO Posted May 20, 2024 Author Posted May 20, 2024 If you send me a document and I don't have the font I think I should still be able to edit the text styles. It feels broken because there's no indication of why OK doesn't work. I didn't know the font was missing and it took a while to debug it. There are other improvements - in 2.4.2 if you entered "abc" into Font Size it didn't show an error and you could click OK. The validation was done after clicking OK and it just ignored an out-of-range value. In 2.5, it validates it when the control loses focus and reverts to the previous value. This is better. walt.farrell and Sean P 1 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro 14" (M4 Pro)
