MikeTO Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Selecting Character > Font Collection > English or the equivalent control in Edit Text Style immediately crashes Affinity. The other collections work fine. I thought this was a new issue in the beta but was surprised to find that it also happened in 2.4.2. The English collection is an automatic language collection. I'm sure I've tested it before and it didn't crash but I recently installed several variable fonts to test them in 2.5 so perhaps that's related. My system is set to English Canada if that makes a difference. FWIW I don't experience this error with French, even if for the rest I'm in a relatively similar situation: My system is set to French Belgium (with all the hyphenation/spelling problems you know); Aff. 2.4.2; I've 2 Macklin variable fonts installed. Publisher never crashes when I choose the automatic default font collection "français", wether in the Character panel wether in the Edit style dialog. Only differences I see, beside default language: — I'm still using Monterey — I didn't install the beta 2.5Worth noting also that I don't use any font manager beside the Apple Fontbook, where I've set an amount of font collections.
