awakenedbyowls Posted March 29, 2024 Posted March 29, 2024 If I open a new document and go straight to pixel mode and try to draw with a brush nothing happens Why doesn't this basic operation just add a pixel layer by default when I do this ? I then have to add a pixel layer to get the brush to work but that's not all - in order to add the pixel layer by right clicking on the layers panel I have to got back into vector mode and add a layer there first - why ? Why can't I even just add a pixel layer from pixel mode until I do this ? Quote
GarryP Posted March 29, 2024 Posted March 29, 2024 (edited) I’m pretty sure here’s an option for that in Settings / Assistant. Try this one: Edited March 29, 2024 by GarryP Added note. awakenedbyowls 1 Quote

You can't right-click in the Layers panel itself; you much right-click on a layer that already exists. But you could Click on the Add Pixel Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. awakenedbyowls 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
