CJGould
This has been discussed before, as it seems to be a known bug. The solutions given do not work on V2 of Designer, or V2 Photo. The Problem: When I create a text frame, or enter text from the Artistic Text tool, the text frame background is solid white, and I just cannot seem to get rid of it. I think this may have happened when I opened a photo document in Publisher, to flow the text around a shape - then reopened it in photo. I simply cannot turn the text frame background back to transparent. The closest I have come is to follow the advice in the link = go to designer, make a path, put text on the path and look for the text frame icon on the context toolbar. However, clicking on this does nothing (as far as I can tell). Can anyone help? As all text I now enter, on Designer and Photo comes with a white text frame background - even on new documents - and it is driving me nuts! Here is a like to the previous discussion on this forum. Open the Designer file in Publisher, use the Textframe Studio Panel to remove the fill. After that go to menu file and choose Edit in Designer. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @CJGould. Reopen the document in Publisher, select the text frame and then go to the Text Frame panel and set the fill to ‘None’. If new text frames are still being created with an unwanted fill, select an errant text frame and choose ‘Defaults > Revert’ from the Edit menu. If that doesn't work, try ‘Edit > Defaults > Factory Reset’. loukash 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)

Or select any random fully transparent text frame and go to Edit → Defaults → Synchronize From Selection.
