Usuma Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Hey, as the title says, i'm using Windows 11 Pro (23H2) and tried to launch Affinity Designer 2.3.1 and a message appears: Something like "The other Affinity-Apps are not available. Please ensure that the app is up to date and that your firewall isn't blocking LAN-connections". (I just translated it, because my message is in german and i don't know a screenshot would help here). I reset, deleted, reinstalled the app. I even checked, if my .NET-Framework is up to date (it is). I tried to start in admin-Mode and hitting CTRL while launching. Nothing seems to work. I also can't open projects, same message. The weird thing is: It worked before. I don't know if it has to do with a windows update or something. Didn't change anything regarding my hardware or firewall/antivirus settings. Any ideas or solutions to this? Thanks in advance! Cheers Quote
Komatös Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Hello and welcome to the forum @Usuma Please check whether network access to the Affinity programs is blocked in the firewall. walt.farrell Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Sometimes that message means that you have an Affinity V2 app "hung" in the background. You might open Task Manager and confirm there are no other Affinity V2 apps running. I also reinstalled it twice, so it shouldn't run in the background anymore. Quote
Usuma Posted February 23, 2024 Author Posted February 23, 2024 (edited) I just deleted the 2.3.1 Version again and installed older version, just in case. - 2.2.1 didn't work --> Same message - 2.0 works fine 2.0 suggests me to update to 2.3.1. When i've finished my necessary work, i'll try to update and run it. I'll report back, when i'm done. Update: 2.1.0 also works fine! An Upgrade to 2.3.1 didn't work. Same error. It has to be something within the latest versions, that causes this error message under windows 11. Edited February 23, 2024 by Usuma Quote

If you haven't already please could you try installing the MSIEXE versions of the apps from the below link? Please note you will need to uninstall the MSIX versions of the the apps. I also tried the latest 2.4.0 Version in both variants (MSIX and the EXE), but it didn't help either. I'm now downgrading onto 2.1.0 because that's the latest version i can work with, sadly... Quote
