can't apply master to any pages

Recommended Posts

hello,

i have been having trouble with applying masters to my pages, no matter how hard i try to apply it would not work. It won't even work when i make a new page and i try to choose the master i want. I have tried restarting my computer, re-downloading, downloading an older version of affinity, but none of these worked. I tried checking with an old af.pub file and there was the same issue there. does anyone know how to fix this or has anyone else experienced this? thank you

Can you try embedding a document here - if this behavior is a feature of it?

Thanks for your report @captchabin!

I can confirm that this issue is already logged with our development team, unfortunately as part of the macOS Sonoma update, Apple changed the way that certain dropdown menus function in their UI API.

This specific dropdown 'call' function was used in Affinity V1, for the Apply Master dropdown, hence the issue you're seeing.

should i update my software?

Unfortunately updating to the latest version of macOS will not resolve this issue (but is usually recommended for security purposes), as the function of this dropdown 'call' has not yet been resolved by the Apple team. I can verify however that our development team have reported the issue to Apple.

In the meantime to workaround this issue, I'd recommend creating your new page(s), removing any master that is not required and then drag/drop the Master page(s) to be applied to these new pages, in the Pages Studio.

I hope this clears things up :)
