Monica Schultz
all of a sudden, my canvas does not resize with the image. In "Document Setup," I resized it from 36x24 to 32x24, and if you look to the right, I see the canvas. I did not experience this prior to the last update. Realto
I can confirm this issue. Haven't tried to do it for a while, tho, so I'm not sure if it's an issue only with the current version.
R C-R
FWIW, so far I cannot duplicate this issue in AD V2.3.1 on my Mac. It might help if the OP could post the file shown so others could test with it.... Staff Dan C Posted January 14 Staff Share Posted January 14 Sorry to hear you're having trouble @Monica Schultz! 17 hours ago, Monica Schultz said: all of a sudden, my canvas does not resize with the image. In "Document Setup When resizing your canvas within Document Setup, there is an option named 'Objects will' - which controls whether layers in your file will be resized with the canvas, or remain static whilst the canvas changes around them. Please ensure that you have Objects will set to Rescale if you want your layers to update with the canvas size, as it sounds as though you may have changed this to Anchor to Page accidentally. I hope this helps!

R C-R
@Monica Schultz, what I meant was to upload the Affinity Designer document. A PNG doesn't tell us much. Thanks for letting me know - as R C-R has mentioned above, I'm also not able to replicate this issue currently on macOS or Windows. Are you able to provide a screen recording showing the exact steps you're taking when this occurs? If you're unsure how to take a screen recording, please check out our FAQ linked below - Many thanks once again!

R C-R
@Monica Schultz, the 3pigs file you uploaded is 30.367 x 24 inches, not the 36x24 size you mentioned in your first post. It shows no extra empty space on the right. Are you sure you uploaded the original file before sizing it? Staff Dan C Posted January 19 Staff Share Posted January 19 Many thanks for providing this recording for me - I can see the issue you're referring to and it appears as though you have the correct settings set when performing this in your video. I've tested this here on both macOS and Windows with a .PNG file, reducing the width only and the image is rescaled to match the new canvas size as expected: Screen Recording 2024-01-19 at 11.08.41.mp4 Therefore I'm not entirely sure why you're seeing this behaviour currently. Can you please try selecting 'Anchor to Page', then return to 'Rescale' and let me know if this now works as expected? It may be that the app simply needs reminding which mode it should be in and the UI is incorrectly reporting the wrong mode. If this doesn't resolve the issue, can you please confirm for me - are you able to replicate this in multiple files/images? If you find this only occurs in one file, are you able to attach a copy of the .afdesign file here for me?
