dinosaura Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Hello and happy Christmas holidays to everyone! 🎄 I would like to report a possible bug. I am referring to version 2.3.0 of Affinity Designer for Windows. In the pixel brush panel I no longer see the option to rename brushes. As you can see from the screenshot, other options are also disabled. For other brush categories the options are available, so I don't understand what this is due to... I have always used the option to rename, because I copy-paste to remember the name of the brush used 😁 Thanks in advance Bye! Quote
PaulEC Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 The options are available for other brushes, but not for this particular set, so I would assume that it isn't a bug, it's just down to something Frankentoon have done to stop their brushes being renamed. walt.farrell Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Or, possibly, it is not available for brush packs installed from the Affinity Store, as that one was. You could probably Copy the brush to a category of your own, and rename it there. PaulEC Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 I think you're right, it's not just Frankentoon, several other sets of brushes from the store are the same. (I haven't checked all of them!) walt.farrell 1 Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 – Windows 11 Home - Affinity Publisher, Photo & Designer, v2 (As I am a Windows user, any answers/comments I contribute may not apply to Mac or iPad.)
dinosaura Posted December 25, 2023 Author Posted December 25, 2023 Thanks for the answers. I don't think it's due to a Frankentoon setting, as I've been using their brush sets for a long time and have always renamed them. I'm sure something happened after the last AD update. However, I tried importing the Splat Tones brush set by downloading it to my hard disk. And so the options work again! There is something I am missing in the icons next to the brush set.... However, for now I have solved it this way. Thanks again for the help :) Quote

The icon for the one you've marked in red indicates it was installed from the Store via the Account dialog. The green one says you imported it manually, and it's linked with the other applications. dinosaura 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
