yixi Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 I once accidentally clicked "float view to window" and by closing the window, the view was back to the main affinity art board. However, the window that was created for the floating view cannot be closed. Trying to float the view again and close it create another blank window (see attached). quit and reopening the app does not solve the problem. I'm on MacOS 12.7.2 and the software version is 2.3.0. Any idea how I can report the bug to the development team? Thanks. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 A forum hint for you, @yixi: A Bug report should normally go in one of the Bug forums, not in the Feedback forum. For macOS, that would be in V2 Bugs Found on macOS What you have reported is a known issue, by the way, and is already covered in the V2 FAQ forum: Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff NathanC Posted December 21, 2023 Staff Posted December 21, 2023 Hi @yixi, I've now moved this thread over to the appropriate Bugs section of the forums. If quitting and starting the app restores the faulty floating windows you may have 'Close Windows when Quitting an application' disabled within your Mac System Settings under 'Desktop & Dock'. Turn this setting on, and then re-launch and quit Designer 2 again and it should clear the Windows on the next re-launch. Quote
manandmouse Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 I'd his bug as well. Extremely annoying. Toke me a while to fix. Remove the folder here: /Users/xxxxx/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher2/Data/Library/Saved Application State/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher2.savedState Quote
Staff Affinity Info Bot Posted January 3, 2024 Staff Posted January 3, 2024 The issue "[macOS] Floating and redocking a document creates an empty floating window which cannot be closed" (REF: AF-1499) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.3.1.2212". This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release. Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions. If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us. Quote
