Jeremy Hullah Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Hi Being fairly new to Affinity I'm finding some of the 'normal' ways of doing things rather hard to find or understand. If I am transferring a book from Word to Affinity to do my Typesetting, I would expect to be able to set my page margins in Affinity and then apply a text box so that it fits within these margins automatically. That way, if I then want to change the margins, this will automatically resize all the text boxes and not make me manually do this over 300 times. Sadly, I can't see how to do this and before I cut and paste my entire freshly typeset book and recreate a new one to copy it back into, I wondered if someone could tell me if I'm missing something straightforward that would allow me to do this more easily. Many thanks Jeremy Quote

If you change something in them, it will automatically be applied throughout the document (on all pages using this MP). In Publisher the Margins are only a Guide for placing things. What you want to do is start thinking about and using Text Frames. Text Frames hold the text, Margins only suggest a good place to put the Text Frames. Use Master Pages with text frames snapped to the margins and then you can resize the text frames on the Master Page(s) and have them automatically adjusted on each and every Actual Page. Jeremy Hullah Posted November 20, 2023 Author Posted November 20, 2023 Thanks both - Makes sense and I'll start again and do it properly this time... Pšenda 1 Quote
