Publisher 2 Mac: When Hide Studio active, Pallets can not be invoked

Recommended Posts

Maybe this is a feature, but it feels like a nasty bug.

If I Hide Studio, I may want to clear up the interface visually, but I don't want to lose all functionality. Is this our choice? I want and need to be able to make all the tool palettes go away, but I also, equally need to be able to summon certain things back, whenever I need to. For example: hide all the tool palettes, but let me pull up the layers pallet when I need to see what's on the layers, or the text frame pallet when I need to do something to a text frame.

Thoughts?

If the Studio is Hidden, it's all gone. And that's by design as far as I know.

Perhaps you should consider creating a Studio Preset (Window > Studio) which contains all your usual panels, and another that contains just the subset of panels you want. Then, rather than Hiding the Studio, you can switch between Presets when you need the less cluttered workspace.

thomaso...this doesn't seem to be working for me

What does not work in particular … ?
… to undock a desired panel?
… to hide the docked left / right panels?
… to keep the undocked panel visible while the left / right panels are successfully invisible?

When I undock the desired pallets and then hide studio, all pallets disappear.

You are using Hide Studio. That is not what @thomaso suggested, which was to turn off Show Right Studio and Show Left Studio.
