Publisher 2.2.1: Preview final page layout?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm currently working with a page in which I've inserted a picture. I've made the picture bigger than the page, to only have part of it this picture in the final product. I currently see all of the picture, with the margins superimposed on top to indicate the boundaries of the page.

Is there any way I can switch to a print / export view, without actually starting those function, so see how the final product will be? You know, where the picture doesn't bleed outside the boundaries of the page? It's much better to evaluate the balance of the page when I only see what actually on it.

Also: Interestingly, not all of the picture is shown. Is there some sort of canvas <=> page correlation in play?

Thanks!

You mean that the top and the bottom of the image is cutted? I think it is because the workspace for each page is limited. Otherwise the image would also cover parts of the previous and next pages on the rows above and below. And that wouldn't make sense. That's at least my interpretation of what I see.

The short key on Windows in fact is Shift+Ctrl+W. Just tested it to be safe.

For Mac it's Ctrl-W

Just writing it out, in case anyone else is experiencing this.

FWIW, a button for toggling Preview mode can be added to the toolbar if it is not already there. It looks kind of like a windshield wiper or fuel gauge symbol:
