jackamus
Carrying on from my topic yesterday, I edited a pdf image using Vibrance, to enhance colour, Levels to remove blue tint background and the Clone tool to remove unwanted areas. I saved it as an AD file. I then copy and pasted the saved image into a blank page in AD and the blue tinted background that I removed in AP is now visible in AD. What is the best way to copy an AP file into an AD doc? Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools. Affinityconfusesme
AP files can be opened in AD so it will be saved as an ad file afterward. Or select all layers in AP copy them and paste them into AD. jackamus
But surely if I saved the edited image as an AP file it should copy with the editing intact. jackamus
If you mean, 'you think it should do' well it doesn't. I'm also having problems with the Clone tool as I did yesterday. It is very sluggish and not very responsive. Is there a way to select the target area but keep it stationery whilst moving the tool remove the unwanted parts? I don't want to use the Erase tool as it will be obvious that an erasure has taken place. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Affinityconfusesme
I am not sure what your picture is but the inpainting brush tool is better for removing objects. You might have copied it incorrectly. Or your new document might have different color settings than the document you're copying from. Screenshots, or screen redcordings, or sample documents (.afphoto, .afdesign) would help figure out what's happening. jackamus
What is the 'Inpainting brush tool'? Reluctantly I'm attaching the jpeg file which is a child's drawing so you can try the Clone tool yourself. I'm trying to remove all the blue lines - you can see where I have had a go. Let me know if you encounter the same sluggishness. Also can you advise on my question about fixing the sample area in one place? Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! jackamus
Thanks Walt but what was missing from the comments was where to find this tool! I discovered it by looking at each tool in turn to see what it offered and found in the 'Patch tool'. walt.farrell 1 Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! I discovered it by looking at each tool in turn to see what it offered and found in the 'Patch tool'. Since the very first V1 versions, by default certain related tools are grouped together in the same tool slot. You can tell which ones are by looking for the small triangle at the bottom right of the grouped ones. You can change this via the View > Customize Tools... (not toolbar) menu item so for example you can use 2 or more columns & place some or all of them as individual icons. I'm pretty sure we have covered this before with you but perhaps it was so long ago that you don't remember it?
