Intuos5 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 An old habit from Photoshop, when I have a selection, I can move the selection with the selection tool active. When I want to move its contents, I either have to switch to the move tool or hold the shortcut for the move tool. But, it is easier to use a modifier key, such as Ctrl, because it isn't in use as of now. For reference, Shift constrains selection proportions and Alt removes from selections. Quote

Intuos5 Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 I always have issues with the forum search not finsing the right topic - and in this case Google didn't either... Quote
GarryP Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 All I used was selection copy ctrl in the forum search box, but I had to do a bit of scrolling. Quote
Intuos5 Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 I searched for move selection Ctrl with and without content... E: Your topics are questions, not feature requests Quote
GarryP Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Yep; it’s the content search that’s needed as not all thread titles have meaningful names. Just searching the titles will give you ‘slim pickings’. (I did say “etc. etc.”, and I didn’t say they were feature requests, but that’s by-the-by.) Since the existing shortcuts keys (on Windows at least) are already being used in this functionality for lots of things it’s difficult to know how the developers could implement this without messing up existing workflows – maybe Drag+Ctrl+Alt perhaps? Anyway, I’m pretty sure that the developers are aware that some people have this requirement and hopefully something will happen sometime soon because it’s a useful feature. Quote
