GarryP Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Welcome to the forums @HUB_AFF This has been mentioned from time to time. There have been requests to change this but, as far as I know, nothing has been done yet. See these threads (and others) for more information:https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/143190-how-to-mouse-drag-and-duplicatecreate-a-copyclone-a-selection-of-pixel-on-the-same-layer-on-affinity-photo/https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/105349-should-i-be-able-to-clone-what’s-in-a-pixel-selection-with-the-move-tool/ NotMyFault 1 Quote
Komatös Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Cloning/duplicating works only with a layer not with a selection. The simplest way, at this time, to become a copy/clone, is to make the selction and press ctrl + j. headhacker Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Has anyone from Affinity ever addressed this issue? This continues to annoy me year after year. This is a simple ask for a standard function. I've seen bug requests filed under this topic as well as feature requests. Thanks, Jon Quote
